Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA)
Federal Capital Territory, Abuja
Attention: Mr. Nuhu Ribadu
Dear Sir,
Letter of Appeal for the release of Deputy Commissioner of Police, (DCP). Mr. Abba Kyari, and his team.
I write to you today with a heavy heart and deep concern for the state of justice in our great nation, Nigeria. I appeal to your office to review and stand tall for justice, equity, and tranquility in ensuring that the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mr. Abba Kyari, and his team are released from detention and reinstated to duty to continue to serve our fatherland.
The allegations made against Mr. Abba Kyari and his team are uncalled for, untrue, and projected in an attempt to bully and tarnish his excellent track record of service to our country. Mr. Kyari and his team have been in detention for two years and are still counting. This is an unacceptable situation, especially because the criminal and international drug lord he intercepted at the Enugu Airport and handed over to the Nigerian drug law enforcement agency has been granted freedom.
It is my sincere appeal that Mr. Abba Kyari and his team be granted bail and that the institution of the College of Police and the image of the respected police officers and sacrifices be protected for posterity. These men have dedicated their lives to serving our country, Nigeria, and it is unfair to subject them to such injustice and gross injury "Vous êtes injuste envers moi".
I implore you, sir, to look inward into this matter with utmost urgency and ensure that justice and fairness are served. The innocent should not be punished for crimes they did not commit. There is a proverbial adage that says "It is a denial of justice not to stretch out a helping hand to the fallen; that is the common right of humanity." We must protect the integrity of our law enforcement agencies and ensure that they are not undermined by false allegations.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and I remain hopeful that justice will prevail.
Sincerely,
Signed:
Hon. Prince Chijioke Ani (Ojenanwayo)
Enugu
